Would you give me just a short background to how you met, your relationship, and engagement?
Our first date was a blind date, the result of a set up by mutual friends. They had been bugging us for months to meet because they thought we would get along great! I was in Africa at the time, and Ryan was traveling the world for work. We finally met for the first time at Oktoberfest in Utah. Come to find out we grew up less than 2 miles from each other. We very quickly became two peas in a pod from that first date. Fast forward 4 years, almost to the day from that first date, Ryan proposed to me inView full post »
Glacier National Park Wedding Venues
Although there are many more fantastic wedding venues in the surrounding area and within 60 miles, these are the venues that I consider close enough to the park to be considered a Glacier Wedding Venue.
From historical lodges to breathtaking views, these Glacier National Park wedding venues will make your mountain wedding dreams come true.

In the northwest corner of Montana sits a hidden gem of the earth. It is a park so naturally beautiful it is known as the “Crown of the Continent.” It is North America’s Swiss Alps and in my opinion, there is no better place to be married. It is jaw-droppingly gorgeous, romantic, and adventurous. I love taking photos everywhere, but I never feel as inspired as I do when I’m in Glacier photographing weddings. Hopefully you fall in love with this little piece of heaven (it was actually used in the movie What Dreams May Come as heaven) as much as I have. Here’s a link toView full post »

Glacier National Park + Photography. A match made in heaven! I’m so excited to offer what I’m calling “The Glacier Experience”
Lifestyle photography in Glacier National Park. A hike, a campfire, skipping stones by the lake, take your family on an adventure and have photos to treasure that memory forever. Sessions usually last around two hours and include all of the edited images on a flash drive. Contact me for prices.

It was a dreary, overcast day and I almost changed the location of their engagement session because I was worried we wouldn’t see any of Glacier’s epic peaks. But I’m so glad we stuck with our original plan of engagement photos in Glacier! The mist and fog added a whole new and romantic element to their photos. Katrina brought her parent’s 100th Anniversary Glacier Pendleton blanket, which was perfect for adding a pop of color against the white and gray backdrop. We started out on Lake McDonald, which was so cool (cool. ha! get it;) because it’s the first timeView full post »

Sweet Peaks. This is just one of my favorite places ever. Homemade ice cream with homemade waffle cones! What more do I need to say? Highly recommended as bribery material for kids’ smiles. If you’re visiting be sure to try the Huckleberry. No trip to Montana is complete without Huckleberry Ice Cream. But my favorite is the espresso, or the Chai, or the Pistachio, ok fine!! They’re all my favorite! Locations in Kalispell, Whitefish and Bigfork.
For baked goods that can stand up against the finest European bakeries stop by Ceres Bakery. My kids would eat their berry andView full post »
Solids over prints.
Solids will get my vote every time. The right print can look great, but more often I will suggest that a client wear a solid color. Bold prints can look very busy and distract the viewer from the focus of the photo, you.
Color is your friend.
I love a nice bright, rich color that really pops in a photo. Lighter brights stand out but aren’t too distracting (i.e. no neon greens and yellows). Even white looks great and can feel fresh. Dark colors are classy and are also very slimming. A nice bright color however, just adds a little something to the photo. And if you have aView full post »
